- Chapter 1
- digitalpen: Oh I love a non traditional point of view. I hope we get to see so many apps on this device. Like, what is his step counter even doing? Okay that was like the most milquetoast sentence I’ve ever written. You know what I mean.
- NellB0_0: This looks really interesting. I am looking 👀
- dysfunctionalburden [tumblr tags]: #ooooo this seems like a cool way of story telling!!!! #emmet's phones is gonna get way blown up when ingo comes back #ough but are we gonna see the zorua trailer where ingo gets attacked by zoruas?? is ingo gonna lose his memories anyways?? #despite being mc???? #oughhh this might be painful but i'm ready! (maybe) (hopefully)
- Chapter 2
- digitalpen: You got me scared that Ingo was going to hit his head or something and lose his memory this chapter. I suppose that’s still a possibility, but his interaction with Laventon here suggests that he has a good chance of filling out the pokedex and maybe going home that way. Maybe. If Ingo is just taking the place of the protagonist, that may not be the salvation he’s looking for, since the player character doesn’t actually leave Hisui at the end of the game… I should curb my speculation until I have more info, I think.
- Blaiddsumu: oh this is VERY interesting very very interesting i am. ENTHRALLED i love the unique format of it all too
- NellB0_0: Loving the format in this story. And Ingo's met Laventon! Makes me wonder if Ingo will take the place of the MC in this or if the MC will eventually show up anyways. Ingo has a lot if not all the pokemon in Hisui in his path of solitude except the mythical and legendary, so... Still not ruling that out. Even if he completes the Pokedex, it will take time and it's not a guarantee for going back home. Augh.
- I can't help but imagine Ingo returning to the future and this barrage of messages being sent to Emmet all at once in one go.
- dysfunctionalburden [tumblr tags]: #oughhhh this is so good i can tell this is gonna be a heartbreaker #i love the medium i love it so so much its so cool#i'm glad that ingo can at least have some outlet to express himself even if emmet can't actually recieve the messages just yet #love that sneaseler loves him even if he probably won't be warden this time around #he has a goal now and he must complete it!!! full steam ahead!!! #its much easier to have a plan to get back to the past now that he has a vague message which is better than the nothing he has in pla #having access to ingo's thoughts like this makes it all the more heartwrenching to be honest #like you see how this separation affects him and how much he's struggling and you know its not gonna get better for a long bit #something something about the journey not the destination but man knowing what's gonna happen makes all of this like so much worse #the suspense for pain i guess?? though i'm sure there will be surpises and stuff not yet revealed but still its like the dread of pain #and you will see it live action see his reactions and feel his pain and it's just gonna be a sad journey (for at least some of the time) #(i'm sure its not all misery and that ingo enjoys some stuff!! has fun and forms bonds and enjoys himself!!) #(its just his situation is gonna be in the background for all these moments) #(because while it can be a good time doesn't mean it wasn't shitty of arceus to do this) #anywho thank you for writing this and sharing with the world!!!
- Chapter 3
- CuzReasons: I need you to know that imagining the "battle" Ingo and Volo had has reduced me to tears like it is taking all my willpower not to start laughing again while typing this
- SeCrFiDr: Volo: oh that was wild lol
- Ingo: SIR YOUR TOGEPI....
- Chapter 4
- Dargon: This story is very fun so far. Crazy man tries to temper alphas. So obv sneasler cant just let this guy go on his own. 💙💙💙
- Pun_fan: I just started reading this and thought,"huh. In the future Ingo could publish these recordings of his. The scientific community, historians, and profressors would fist fight just to get a minute of video. In fact, a documentary would probably be made about this."
- Chapter 5
- SeCrFiDr: gligar is learning im very proud
- Lupanari: I really am enjoying this style of storytelling you're doing with this. Ingo has gone full vlogger now. While a part of me definitely wants to know more (like just how badly Ingo got got hurt to be on bed rest), the way you make it clear that he did and was put on bedrest is great. And hey, look at that, his team is expanding, and he's slowly meeting all the Nobles!
- Chapter 6
- Answrs: it's always the damn Paras!
- (asdfhjkl poor Ingo. nothing seems to be going right for the poor man and I can't say it's not super enjoyable to read, lol. :p)
- Dargon: Sneasler brags about how trainable her human is.
- Chapter 7
- themichaelvan: "Even under Arcanine’s watchful eye, the two stay clustered together. There isn’t a single image where they’re apart.
- "I love you."
- AUUUUGGHHHHHHHH. GOD. FUCK. KILLING ME.
- Chapter 8
- Vzoid: I didnt know i would love this so much. Everything is awesome!
- Lupanari: The booming “Kandrake” was definitely much more than Adaman expected. LoL But now he knows how loud Ingo can be.
- Hey the map has been discovered! The super duper Arceus upgraded topography map that shows location and waypoints and everything that is likely going to help Ingo immensely.
- Chapter 9
- Vzoid: ehahahaha lady sneasler! you know what you want in life! no one is her boss. ahhh, love it! how he’s doing, what’s he doing, his pokémon vibin, love it all. progress shots, and the stats, love it. love his videos and interactions ! love love love.
- SecretWings: oh hey sneasler still not given up huh <3 <3 <3
- Dargon: Sneasler is sneased to see you :)
- digitalpen: “What good am I here without you?” Was, I think, the heart of the chapter, and maybe the heart of the whole fic so far. It adds some depth that wasn’t really there before. Yes, Ingo misses emmet and we can see how he addresses all of his notes to Emmet via text and tries to carry on a conversation, but saying it aloud was somehow more impactful. It made their relationship, and the absence of it here, seem very genuine to me.
- Anyway Sneasler jumpscare at the end lmao.
- Lucarn: *waves* Hi, Lady Sneasler! Which is both funny and less funny in the context that she's ignoring Sandorn. Sure, the Pearl Clan choose her rather than Lady Sneasler, but if she always follows Ingo? Can Sandorn even bond with her like that?
- *wheezing about Volo and Togepi* Knowing Volo and his team, who are more like a modern team of trainers and pokemon, they might have enjoyed that battle even as it was so one-sided. Or they might have not. We as the audience don't know! (Yet?)
- ;_; Ingo is missing home and feeling inadequate. He misses Emmet and his support. It's such a different world where different skills are required that he's still learning. Fearing the Alabaster Icelands probably doesn't help his mental state at this point.
- Misadventures with Cyllene's Abra!
- Huh. Is Laventon learning to read and write in Unown?
- Anonymous_Person109: Freakin’ adore Sneasler and her nonverbal persistence in telling everyone she will have no other warden except for Ingo XD
- themichaelvan: ohh this is INTERESTING!!!!!!! very very intrigued by the quests....
- Chapter 10
- SecretWings: ingo: so this is me. nearly dying again. dude has the worst luck. in the icelands specifically but probably in general too
- Lucarn: Ah. The conflict between Sandorn and Ingo. It really sucks for both sides but there's nothing to be done. Lady Sneasler chooses and regularly shows her favor for Ingo. Sandorn is understandably angry at him, but he has no fault in this.
- A picture is taken and promptly filed under Miscellaneous.
- It’s snowy.
- There’s a Stantler far off in the distance.
- The primary subject is a very large hole.
- ...there isn’t much more to say about it. *wheezing from laughter* How did Ingo fall into that hole????
- What a complicated situation for him to be in. He needs a new team and it wouldn't be fair to treat his new pokemon any less than full partners. That doesn't lessen the guilt and worry for his people back home. Or the fear both that it might leaving Hisui that much more difficult if he can't take his team with him as well as the possibility itself of losing them. On a different point, what was Warden Ryder doing when she crashed? Did she try to herd the Happiny to him? Or more that she was too excited to tell him about the Happiny she spotted?
- The berry is missing.
- With a timestamp marked four minutes after the fact, the divot is filled again, this time with a cluster of pink salt.
- A mystery, it seems. - Hahahaha. I have no idea what is happening here but it's hilarious. I love the meme format of the narration tying into the pictures, which has no comments. Maybe Ingo was amused, too.
- And another hole!!!
- ... Fuck. This is the zorua / zoroark den. And they're already angry at Ingo at the point when he doesn't want to venture deeper, but they use illusions. Then the attack. He's seeing Emmet. It was luck that the Zoroark's attack didn't hit him and Abra got him out of the cave.
- themichaelvan: oh ingo......
- Chapter 11
- MelodyStory: 75d7d86g susprise statues of palkia and daglia? also yay, emmet did in fact not also get yoted into hisui!
- Lucarn: The format is really interesting!! It's like a mix of a documentary, research journal, and diary, sometimes with the phone recording when Ingo doesn't seem to notice? I've jumped into this chapter so I don't know the larger context yet. And the different formats seem to occur at different times?
- OH BOY. Did Ingo accidentally walk into a Zorua and Zoroark den? With the narrative, the darkness when the video was taken, and the extensive editing of the frames, I guess he was attacked and didn't see what attacked him. So he went through the videos and images to figure out where it came from.
- "Ohnyula?” He bellows, resuming his search of the peaks, “Lady Sneasler, are you there? I’m sorry for the imposition, but I have an urgent question only you can answer!” - Huh, he uses both her name in Japanese and her translated name? Or is that a workaround to show that Ingo is speaking Japanese? I hope I get to read the other chapters soon so that I can find the answer- Oh. Oh, Ingo. ;_; How long has he been worrying that Emmet might have pulled to Hisui, too, and he wouldn't have known? He's so rellieved that he keens - while I also guess that it hits him again how much he's missing him. Bad enough that Lady Sneasler carries him to her den / cave and flops on top of him to comfort him.
- XDD If I understood right, Ingo missed Lady Sneasler's arrival during the battle with the Alpha Bronzong?
- Another time jump! Ingo is exploring Hisui and comes across the temples? At least I think I remember there being the statues of Palkia and Dialga. He might have figured something else out, because he makes that new folder labelled Hisui and sorts the photos into it. Maybe relevant to the history?
- themichaelvan: "It was… nice to have a partner again, if only on a short term basis." Little Does He Know...
- Chapter 12
- some guy (Guest): Custom Survey Question: What IS proper procedure for dealing with Melli?
- Answer: Google "Pokemon Legends Arceus Speedrun Bully Melli %"
- Tangela is a sweet little creature and they deserve the world ;-;
- Lucarn: Sadorn was Lady Sneasler's previous Warden. Or would have been? It seems that she doesn't spend time around her or even in her territory. Whatever relationship she and Lady Sneasler have, it seems to be strained. And Sadorn is upset at Ingo.
- I love the sound of casual battling and that Ingo isn't even phased. He just continues with his call when Stantler has defeated the Luxray. I love how you recreate the experience of listening to a voicemail where you have only sound to guide you what it happening.
- Who is Ingo's companion when he's eating? At least he's got somebody and can enjoy his meal much more.
- I have to read up on the Shrouded Ruins because neither the name nor the details of the location ring a bell for me. It seems to be extremely haunted, though.
- XDDD Tangrowth was hungry and / or curious. So, on the way to the fish! The image is so comical because I know how Tangrowth looks, so I can imagine well how far into the lake they got before Ingo recalled them.
- LOL about the custom custom survey questions with Melli. Why did Ingo even make that joke how he'd deal with him if he was his brother?
- MelodyStory: extra kudos <3 love the new chappie!
- themichaelvan: the description of ryders request JGNFNSNFMFM
- Chapter 13
- Dargon: Stop getting hurt, my dude! Calaba would probably wack him if it wouldn't just add to the work she has to do.
- I see another has probably defected to the "Fuck this shit I'm out" gang.
- Lupanari: That bit with Calaba was actually really interesting. Nice bit of real world input on a game mechanic with the potion making.
- Ah yes, the formation of the Fortune Sister bandits. All that's missing is the one from Jubilife.
- digitalpen: Oh I have a theory about sadorn and kandrake for sure. I wondered where that name came from and found an interesting planetary similarity. It’s a shame she gave up on Sneasler… not sure whether it’s cruel or not to have Ingo be her warden when he’s actively searching to leave Hisui…I suppose I’ll see about that. But Sadorn herself, I’m expecting she either went to join the Galaxy team or she went to meet someone there to strike out into the wilds. Not sure I should say more in case I spoil something!
- MelodyStory: extra kudos <3 also uh these folks be dipping. also also, the calaba part is verrry cool imo and i wouldnt mind reading more stuff like it! (also also also, emment is gonna be like: why are u sputtering and ingo is gonna be like: (time to lie))
- ps: have a great day!! ^-^
- Chapter 14
- Some Guy (Guest): Sure hope someone explained to Jubilife's villagers what a camera recording is, or Ingo probably looked a bit like strange chatting to himself like that. Well, they're used to him being strange already.
- Also! The fact that at least two - probably three if the pattern holds - Lake Spirits' caves are already open? When in the game they required use of the arcphone and a terrible red sky to open? I don't know if that's just to make the story direction convenient (since curiosity gives him a reason to poke around in there), or if that's something to be worried about.
- I love the fact that Gyarados can fly! But I wish we could ride it. I don't know if you can do that in Let's Go or not but if not.... wasted opportunity.
- MelodyStory: extra kudos as always and, by the way ingo countines to find ways to be embrassed in the middle of nowhere! (thank you gligar for that mental image) i love this dorky train man sm.
- Anyway ingo gets the brillitant idea of how to (even further) endear himself to all the historians who like this part of history. Also if ingo argees to be interviewed (either on his adventures or how husi did husi things) and or writes a book about his adventures he would be loved forever. (if he isnt already loved because ya know *gestures at all the documation already being done* though thats only if he ever releases videos/pictures to be looked over by them)
- But anyway as you can tell i really liked the "Lets take a tour of (just started existing) Jubilife" scenes. like my dude your really good at desribing everything that the camera is seeing?? (though that might be my inner history nerd showing) and just??? ingo being interupted at the pastures (via pokemon requiring pets) was done very organicly in a way i can understand very well. (i have two pets who both adore attetion and one of them Will come over if your petting only one of them)
- Though one last thing about the Tour™️ was the lady who ran off the uh spirtomb lady or like what?
- 7TCYUUY I NEARLY FORGOT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. ingo!! is sus!!! about volo!!! i reallly wonder how thats gonna impact future ingo-volo interactions if ingo keeps his suspicions about lets-end-the-entire-stinkin-world guy over there. But also one last thing about this voicemail, tangrowth is a very lovely baby who can do nothing wrong and i love her for it <3
- ps. have a very good day! ^^
- pss. i love that villager who mentally glanced over at ingo talking to himself bof deiceding that their work was more important then whatever ingo was doing!! (and the detail that ingo sleeps in the gaxaly building rather then in a house because he isnt a member of their team??? Very Lovely detail you got here.)
- yidiyifiiy i forgot about the Custom Survey Question peck.
- lemmie answer that real quick: having not in fact finished this game yet and not Really seeing flying gyarados in all its glory am gonna go with a tenative yes. Yes that the water noodle is in fact cool lookin while flying. (tbh half the time i forget that gyarados even Has a flying typing lol)
- Chapter 15
- Munchkin_Of_Pern: Answering the Survey Question for once: I personally think that Ingo has been around in Hisui for under 5 years. I just can’t see his work shoes surviving in the wilderness any longer than that lol. I also suspect that he arrived before the rift opened, since it seems like a recent development and Kamado doesn’t show any suspicion towards Ingo. My headcanon is that he was swept up by a space-time distortion.
- digitalpen: This comment is intended as extra kudos. Just wanted to say that I liked the chapter! Ingo’s vulnerability continues to endear him. The way he blames himself so hard for neglecting the pokedex…and then the way he is so determined to hold himself apart as an outsider from basically every support system in Hisui…
- Lupanari: I really hope for Ingo’s sake that this is all he needs to do to get home and that the frenzy business isn’t about to start. It really sounds like he’s starting to break from the homesickness.
- SecretWings: i have a bad feeling about this. volo about to run in with an amnesia bat or something
- Lucarn: Well, fuck. A lot of things became worse in this chapter for many people. Poor Sadorn, poor Paulina, poor Sabi, poor Ryder, poor Irida. Poor Lords and Ladies. Poor Ingo. :( He's isolating himself in a way that's so unhealthy and based on impossible standards. Some people in Hisui like Laventon (likely) wouldn't say forever, either.
- CloudChaser7: oh god i love this fic so much, the no traditional format gives such an interesting view of ingo’s perspective, from the stuf he records on purpose to what we see without him meaning to. as someone that’s gotten a bit drained by the saturation of angst in submas following PLA, i really appreciate how you balance the angst with ingo’s fascination and wonder at hisui and the inevitable comedic chaos of training new pokémon.
- also i did not heed that character death tag well enough, pain pain pain personally i think he was around for like 3 or 4 years? like he had to be there long enough to both learn the language and reasonably gain irida’s trust, but no too long to not lose the coat to wear and tear
- Chapter 16
- Blaiddsumu: I'm normal about this i am for sure definitely (blatant lie)
- ingo 🥺🥺🥺🥺 he's having a TIME of it 😭
- he. he. th. words hard but he!! sobs
- CloudChaser7: NOOII MY HEART LET HIM GO HOME ALREADY GAHHHHH
- god this was short but tore my heart out i should’ve known this wouldn’t be so easy, we really have the whole plot! oof oof oof
- ingo needs some r&r stat
- digitalpen: This was a long time coming, I fear. Ingo as the protagonist with all of his memories intact was not a very sustainable situation. Seems he’s tried something drastic…at least he isn’t alone.
- Chapter 17
- Dargon: Acceptance has taken it's tole and now the plot has come knocking.
- For traditions, I second the idea of wardens crafting their own bands and flutes. I like the idea of taking the flute a step further and crafting unique flutes or similar from a specialized material from their area/niche. Bone, stone, wood, shell, antler etc. They would have different sounds depending on the material and would be so much more interesting.
- Then they form a band/j
- SeCrFiDr: ingo: well. this is a scenario i could have never imagined, but...i must continue to live. this land, the people, could never soothe the ache of what has been torn away from me by an uncaring god, but i refuse to give up. i will make the most of this, as best as i can.
- ingo, a week later: whhat thr fuck the SKY IS BROKWN
- Lupanari: Dun dun dun! The rift appears!
- I'd always viewed the flutes and bracelets as being more limited and ceremonial (blessed by Sinnoh and all that) but I like the idea that its part of the trial to become Warden to carve them. And the image of Snealer dragging a dead Ursaring to Ingo like a cat delivering gifts to carve up for this like is kinda funny.
- therelevanceofpie: Nice chapter! You did a good job conveying Ingo's emotions and state of mind during this trying period even through the medium of text logs. I like the warden traditions you've got here, and I especially like sneasler bringing him a huge bear like it's no big deal 🥰
- I love that Ingo is considering options for public transportation, love to see if that goes anywhere in the future. It was a headcanon of mine in the base game that the reason he was able to handle his duties as a warden in the Coronet Highlands as well as doing battles over at Jubilife Village is because he had an Alakazam that could teleport him back and forth, maybe he could do something with that? I don't know why my brain latched onto that section out of everything in the chapter lol ^-^
- Thanks for the fic!
- themichaelvan: oh we are getting INTO it now ‼️‼️
- Chapter 18
- SeCrFiDr: shoot, i totally forgot to look around at the temple too! i was like "YEAHHH LEGENDARIES" and. just finished the main quest lol
- i ...love ingos little quests. thats so funny. imagine having random tasks you were gonna do anyways as god-sent missions(presumably). Also...the Outreach quest...ingo isnt alone he isnt ill start weeping any second now
- Klui: Really good chapter, one of my favorites so far, the tension around the rift, and the issues that have been brewing for a while now with the clan, ohh I love this, can't wait to see how it continues!
- digitalpen: A cool new friend to help Ingo with his camera work! This chapter gave us some interesting details. Ingo’s physical description again is nice to see—a good way to chart how he’s doing. Also, the fact that his videos are so long has me thinking…maybe arceus upgraded his storage…or maybe Pokémon technology is just better that way. Plus now we have distortions. Glad he made it through without getting blown up or anything!
- Chapter 19
- SeCrFiDr: hhh...ingos coat and hat are getting worn...physical evidence of the seperation between before and now. its j. its so. i j. every day i wake up and wonder who at gamefreak decided to do this to ingo .like wh .
- rotom...<3 little creechure
- Chapter 20
- SeCrFiDr: hm. i think yes! (Also i never . Realized he made 2 teams like that. Like i knew he did but i didnt relate it to the battle subway ooh my god.
- Like, Gliscor...the smile. Its so. That HAD to be purposeful i literally refuse to accept anything else. And Probopass being a compass is just...man. man. Machamp reminds me of Gurdurr and the like, and Ingo (i think) used a Gurrdurr in his intro double battle w/ Emmet in BW2.
- Magnezone isnt just. Electronic. But also very reminiscent of Klingklang. (Its the whole "gen 5 made an entirely new dex but kept similar ideas (Audino/Chansey, Magnemite/Klink, Foongus/Voltorb (Machop/Timburr too) etc))
- I do find it fun that Hisuian Basculin are white-striped. I dont think that has to do w/ his team i just think its neat
- Tangela...hm. Beyond the multi-gen evo thing, Tangela is known for its vines that never stop growing. Maybe thatd be useful to mark areas? Like. Tie a vine to a tree. Idk.
- Alakazam...the Abra line are known for teleporting. That seems pretty appealing for a guy whos probably scared of being lost again.
- Also, a majority of his pokemon can fly/teleport. And that makes sense. Again, Ingo’s probably terrified of finding himself completely lost again. A team of pokemon who can scout ahead, scavenge, escape from enemies, and can keep direction are perfect for him
- (Also - you mentioned they eeby deebied ingo cause of a pun on "Nobori." Wh. Whats the pun?)
- edit: I Mixed Up "Kudari" And "Nobori". fake fan smh (/j)
- Answrs: oh no, ingo better get that gash looked at after helping the poor starter asap! I doubt hisui has antibiotics if it gets infected D:
- I'm super curious what Sabi has up her sleeve though! another evo item? healing items? something else from the future? or just a prank? very interested to find out! :D
- for the question: ngl, I'm definitely a big sucker for the "gliscor/gligar's :> grin reminds him of emmet" (especially when combined with the "if emmet had fallen he'd have a crobat with it's :< mouth"). I've never even thought about, let alone considered the base form aspect, that's a super cool detail! :o
- Chapter 21
- Dargon: That rotom is spoiled with divine technology!
- Lupanari: Dun dun dun! It begins...
- Those sketches Ingo was making of his team sound really cute. And Rotom using emojis to communicate is adorable.
- digitalpen: I had an awful, angsty thought while I was reading the phone call portion of this chapter. There’s no evidence within the story that it’s actually happening, but what if Emmet can hear the calls back in the future? They seem to be connecting…if they actually are going through, then something could be blocking off whatever Emmet says in response, and Ingo continues to think that he’s just talking into the air. Again, there’s no real reason for me to think this, except that it would be so emotional. I think I made myself sad there. Glad to see where the story’s going, though!
- SeCrFiDr: !!!! yippee :D plot time lets gooo (ingo is gonna get even more confused for a while)
- ooh, i didnt know! thats cool :) its really cute that it counts as a word haha
- Nattiko: Glad to hear that the implementation of a character that speaks 👈 🌌 ⚫️ to demonstrate an unknown language is possible.
- Meanwhile, I continue to read this golden work found during the search for bronze.
- Chapter 22
- SeCrFiDr: i think it makes sense. confuse and disorient the nobles in hopes of shocking their systems...very cool
- Chapter 23
- SeCrFiDr: I loved the battle :) ingo combining unovan battle strategy with the hisuian standard of "run around to not get hit" was very fun
- Lupanari: I think you did great with the Kleavor battle. There was tension because Ingo has the chance of being sliced in half, but he definitely came in with the strategy befitting a battle facility head, but was able to adjust quickly when it stopped working. We'll done.
- But yay! Kleavor is cleared! Love how sneaky Rotom is getting with those recordings.
- SecretWings: lovely <3 <3 <3
- digitalpen: I enjoyed the battle scene. To be honest, I’m not much a fan of authors writing out turn by turn Pokémon battles with the mechanics painstakingly described. This approach felt more physical, and that does a lot to add suspense to the story at this juncture.
- lemonhoneypastry: This is literally such a good fic- I’m so excited to see where you take it!!!! <3
- Chapter 24
- Dargon: This could be because of the limited information due to how this fic is formatted, but cutting the galaxy team out of the equation as the middleman really seams to streamline the frenzy's solutions a bit more while taking away some of the conflicts, but also add some new ones. Like the Miss Fortune Sisters rerouting to the highlands. Good to know Melli will be Melli no matter what timeline lol. Some of the conflicts could as well just not be discussed. It's all very fresh.
- StarsShiningAbyss: While it's not nessiccary for the other battles to be written or, I think it would still be interesting to see!
- (Just read thing whole thing in one sitting, it is 5.30am, and absolutely worth it. I really enjoy how you characterise Ingo and his interactions with native hisuians!)
- themichaelvan: ingo should be allowed to swear i think. he deserves it
- Chapter 25
- Munchkin_Of_Pern: MESPRIT WHAT DID YOU DO-
- buntcakemaster: O w c h, poor Ingo... Uxie is fun tho
- Dargon: Geez Mesprit (my phone: Mesothelioma)
- Mesprit really needs some complementary handkerchiefs for their heroic guests. Just a suggestion.
- digitalpen: I like an Ingo and Sabi relationship. She’s a neat character. I also like the economy of simply moving through the familiar parts of the story. The red sky wasn’t really my favorite part of the game, so that’s probably a me thing, which not everyone will share.
- Lupanari: *gasp* Mesprit, what did you ask?! Seriously, Mesprit’s a bitch during this meeting but these last few sentences say a lot.
- Love that Uxie did an update in his Pokédex notes when he met it.
- Good to see the clans uniting on this to keep Kamado from doing something foolish (for now at least). Without the regular PC he has no scapegoat to toss out and like he’ll was Irish letting Ingo take the potential fall. Looking forward to seeing what happens on the peak.
- Klui: I really liked this chapter for showing that, even in this universe where he didn't forget, and even if he didn't quite want to, he still made bonds in Hisui, and the realization that he got people looking out for him too, it was small, but so important to the tragedy of his character, huge shout outs to Irida. Also love the dynamic he's developed with Sabi, it's super cute!!
- Ah, Cogita and Volo, those 2 are so good from the perspective of an Ingo who knows, that inability to read them properly, and how she knows so much, love it!!
- And the trio, maaaan, I loved the first 2, super cute stuff, but Mesprit :(((.
- Blaiddsumu: uxie briefly hijacking the arcphone to correct the entires on it and the others lol
- and then that. immediate whammy of the last section OUGGHHHHHHH what did you DO TO HIM--
- themichaelvan: AUGGGH. THAT ENDING. AUUGGHHHHHHHJBBHBH.
- side note: "If, next you meet, it gives you the opportunity, scratch behind its crest. It will never admit to it, but that’s its favorite spot." ehehehe
- lemonhoneypastry: WOOOOOOO ANOTHER CHAPTER :D never ceases to disappoint!!! I look forward to these updates so much, and the little ending part was so cool! Seeing how they manipulate the Pokédex is such a neat little addition! Keep up the awesome work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
- Chapter 26
- Dargon: Love how Palkia's powers come into play. We need more devastating displays of power displayed. Especially if it's an accident.
- Also I enjoy chain snake. Very cool.
- Lupanari: Damnit Kamado, course you had to go do the foolish thing... At least Ingo beat him pretty easily, and didn't have to deal with Beni. Kamado wasn't THAT stupid.
- OOoooohhh, love how you're doing the Palkia stuff. It's always a little awkward when it's like "Here's this almighty legendary pokemon who can break time and space - oh, a child has caught it in a ball? Okay, guess that's its life now." So yes, game mechanic does not always equal narrative mechanic. Having Sneasler help Ingo get to Palkia amongst the breaking of reality was a great touch.
- lemonhoneypastry: YAY!! Another incredible chapter!!! It’s super cool how you changed the Palkia encounter, and I think it works a lot better for the narrative!! Keep up the brilliant work ❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
- lemonhoneypastry: Just realized I should reblog these!!!
- Literally one of my favorite fics right now ❤️❤️ all the love to the author!! I have been hooked since chapter 1 :D
- Chapter 27
- Lucarn: *whispers* holy shit, what a chapter.
- I dearly loved it and I wish to return later to give a longer comment. <3<3
- Dargon: That fight was so sick! Kaiju battle!
- Lupanari: Hooo boy, that was intense! Lots of fun to read. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. Let Ingo rest now please.
- SecretWings: as expected of gods battling each other that, was terrifying in a 'omg they're throwing laws of the universe at each other' way. how ingo managed to give commands never mind come up with a plan i don't know. i would be curled up in the corner sobbing if i had to do that irl instead of through a video game.
- Klui: SUPER LATE BUT GREAT CHAPTER, great fight sequence, it was so chaotic and frantic, ah, great stuff!
- Also the concept of the setting going through multiple faces of itself across time and space is so cool, love it
- SeCrFiDr: im literally so impressed i . Wow...ingos little head turn when the weight of the world is crushing him, one eye open, even in the face of forces he cannot hope to understand falling back into his routine...the pearl clan and sneasler took him in, and in this universe maybe he didn't need that help but he still gained from having it and palkia, fighting against its sibling/other half bows down to ingo and allows him to guide it...dialga stares into ingos eyes, both frozen and entranced, knowing things that cant be said and feeling pain that can't be felt...dialga breathes in finally after screaming for so long with such vibrant anguish it shook the world around it and ingo breathes in after fighting for so long with no end in sight...
- and this is an ending, in a way. home is so far away but he's a different person now, anyways. the man who fell into hisui now stands at the top of the temple of sinnoh, and he's the same man, but he's different, now. time has a way of doing that to people. space has a way of doing that to people. he's adapted, survived, and now - he's not forgotten what he had, not in this timeline, and he's always going to think about the place he left behind, but - he used the embodiment of the land that's accepted him to quell the raging embodiment of the past he used to have. hisui helped him through the grief, rage, fear - and he still feels those things, because people are people, and people are soft - but he's. different now.
- i hope that makes sense.
- themichaelvan: ooggggnn .......no comprehensible thoughts just Woaugh.
- Chapter 28
- digitalpen: Wish I could give another kudos but ao3 doesn’t let me. I like the way you’ve interpreted the battle subway legendary ban—which is to say, that it is sort of a joke that got codified. That’s fun.
- Dargon: I really love the emphasis on moving forward. Ingo has been pushed so far away from his goal of going home (from his perspective) and has decided that no matter what happens he will still care about the world and the people he meets. Despite everything he still has hope and will still try his best to find his way home, but also he has the determination to do what is right along the way because that's who he is.
- blazichu:Thank you! I'm glad that communicated properly, because that call was definitely supposed to be a bit melancholic, but ultimately optimistic. It can be a tough balance to maintain without one overwhelming the other, so hearing it worked out is definitely a relief!
- I'm also noticing a very peculiar turn of phrase here. "Despite everything", eh? xD (I mentioned this on tumblr, so you might have seen, but reading this chapter back, I felt like I accidentally paraphrased that dialogue with the "still there, even after all this time" line. It's funny and kind of sweet to see it come up again in this context!)
- Dargon: XD the phrase fits for multiple reasons.
- For me, it just seems like Ingo seems more steeled in his role than he had been previously. Things have calmed down and he is tired, but proud of what he has done to aid these people he has come to appreciate. People have come to appreciate him more as well out of thanks, but also because they genuinely care for him like the Clans who had his back even at the cost of risking relations with the Galaxy Team. It came out of left field to him because this was all a (seemingly neverending) means to an end, but he had more troubling matters to focus on until the aftermath. Now in retrospect Ingo has obviously thought about a lot and has come to terms with his new place he has carved out for himself to the point where he has made it his mission to protect the people to the best of his ability. I'm not saying he didn't do this before, but it is noticably a proactive decision rather than consequential or reactive.
- He still wants to go home. He still misses his family. He also has made peace with the fact that he doesn't know when (if) that will be possible, but he has the will of a Unovan and a heart that has grown even larger even if it still aches.
- SeCrFiDr: "All About Magikarp: A little girl in the village named Ceci has asked you to teach her more about Magikarp."
- wh.what if i start sobbing loudly. wh. heart emoji...
- haha, im glad you liked my ramble! i just. theres...Its The Themes...
- legendaries...honestly? idk. ive always personally thought of it as, like. mythicals are pokemon that no one can prove r real, and legendaries theres enough evidence. i know its not an official difference but thats made sense to me. like - box legendaries are Huge Deals in their regions (not counting SV here lol) and i agree that theres probably some info but it isnt entirely accurate. pokemon like jirachi or celebi or arceus? theyre like. just myths. no one has actual real info on them, its all just stories that could be true maybe
- Klui: Oh man, so glad the main conflict has been put to rest, I'm sure nothing bad will happen now that we're done with that :^)))
- Loved Ingo's little monologue at the start, there's a sense of peace on it, but at the same time a heavy one, like he's battling between keeping hope and accepting his situation, it's so good. And mr volo lurking around, stop looking at me with them big ol (blue) eyes.
- On the survey question, I think during the like, first and second gen, and maybe up to the 4th, a lot of information was myths and traditions, with some sightings reported (some real, some not), and since stuff like the internet didn't exist and information couldn't be spread as easily, even big events in-game with legendaries were kept local. But as time passed, and phones became a thing, they definitely became much easier to find stuff about, like, there's no way there wasn't 80 billion videos of Eternatus blowing up england 😭
- Can't wait for what's next!!
- honeyloveydovey: survey answer: while i do enjoy the common “god is best friends with a teenager that helped save the region” trope, i see legendary pokémon in two different categories: God/Embodiment of an aspect, or just super powerful and rare. that’s not even touching the korai/mirai-don situation because aren’t they only legendary by circumstance?
- anyhow, capital L Legendary pokémon probably interact with humanity enough to have the basics known about them. Those interactions might just be only the end game events of a normal game where the protagonist conveniently has a master ball. whereas the rare legendaries are banned due to common sense, such as “I don’t know how you have a Heatran, but it needs to be removed from the premises before the station ends up a smoldering crater in the ground.”
- God, ingo, you make me sad. are your lighthearted comments yours? or are they something emmet would say to try and cheer you up? or are you making them as an attempt to cheer him up in the off chance he’s listening. i adore the characterization here if only because some things could be attributed to his brother bleeding through the cracks, either through what ingo is doing or what ingo misses.
- survey question in return: What do you imagine the player trainers experiencing after such close contact with Legendaries? Someone so young feeling something so eldritch must be effected verrrry much.
- lemonhoneypastry: HECK YEA! Wonderful chapter👏👏👏 so excited to see how things play out with volo! I really enjoyed the Truth and Ideals part, because it would 100% show how different people are indifferent regions! Sinnoh values time and space, while Unova values truth and ideals! Creates very different cultures and thought processes.
- Chapter 29
- SeCrFiDr: ingo meeting legendaries....mended coat....hh
- that is super interesting. i honestly just was like "oh they're setting up a future return to Unova bcause the fans love gen5 and itd spice up this gen4 based game" but . ur right. in lore, wh. why are landorus/thundurus/tornadus in sinnoh. why did *Ingo* stumble thru a rip in space-time ...??? like yeah its a rip in Space and Time but, like, itd make Way more sense for someone from modern day Sinnoh to end up falling thru a portal (or to be sent there by arceus). super intriguing
- Lupanari: Hhhhhhnnnnggggg.... the next chapter is another much anticipated climax. Glad Ingo isn't going in completely blind to Volo's attitude though.
- So many legendary notes. Always kind of funny when Ingo also talks about the reasoning why the Subway banned a particular pokemon, and why he stands by the decision after meeting/battling them.
- Repaired coat means new design! Ahhh, thank goodness for Anthe! Glad they got a picture taken together at the photo studio.
- There really are so many Sinnoh/Unova connections made here in legends (BTW, Clay is the Lian's descendent, not Alder). And the. We have the ScVi dlc which apparently has that Blueberry Academy set somewhere in Unova(if that'sa spoiler, I'm sorry!). So there's definitely some kind of Unova hype going on in Gamefreak. Me - I really want a new Legends game where we see the OG Dragon. That would be cool.
- Dargon: I love that the insite Ingo has on the legendary/mythical Pokemon is from research done for the battle subway. I think that's a fun and organic way for him to have the knowledge since I'm in the camp that most legends and mythical are not well known unless there is a special/religious interest like the Sinnohs or they are famous/infamous like the genie trio tearing shit up. I just imagine Ingo and Emmet were hearing stories of children befriending deities that were thought to be myths and the destructive forces they wielded on their journeys. They basically said "that is a liability we are not prepared for". Then they preceded to look into all accounts of these types of eldritch abominations to lay out the alleged claims and weigh them to determine their status as safe, too dangerous or too unknown.
- I reeeeally love the coat redesign. It further highlights his integration into this society, but also, once again, is a clear indicator that he is more sure of himself and his role. I think coat redesigns are so underutilized in aus. In the main game you can say his coat was redesigned from his original one to convey how he, like his coat, has been aged and tattered from his displacement, but still holds on to his past no matter how damaged his memory is. The redesign in this fits a shift in his character in the same vein.
- For your question I'd say that there does seem to be a connection between the two regions. The references to Unova, even if we took the whole guy out of the equation, seem to be a lot for two regions that are not at all neighbors. I wonder if gamefreak will eventually expand on that.
- Chapter 30
- Lupanari: That was epic! Love the distortion world inclusion, and now I’m a little disappointed that didn’t happen in pla. Ingo and the team having actual trouble orienting themselves to that world was a great touch because that is not a world meant for reality. Rotor’s confusion as it tried to figure out where they went was cute. And Guratina literally slamming the door in Volo’s face - HA!
- Giratina just has a bad rap I think. It serves a necessary purpose by running the distortion world, but the distortion world is just so hostile and other to normal reality that contact probably causes a lot of damage. (Definitely worried about that cough, but hopefully, Ingo got out soon enough…)
- kotter: i love it so much when fic authors even brush on ingo's relationship with his pokemon. seriously. i love him and his flesh-eating bat and psychic monster with an iq of 200. this fic is so good, i would like to put it on my wall
- SeCrFiDr: oh shit a pop quiz
- mm. i mean, giratina is chaos. to call it evil for doing what it was designed to do feels...weird. especially after being isolated for so long...
- honeyloveydovey: I fully gasped at multiple points in this chapter. god. i don’t even have the words to fully articulate how much i adore this.
- survey answer: giratina changes. as does everything, but i think it is probably very unaccustomed to change; it (at this chapter’s point in time) is “freshly” banished into the distortion world, so it is Angry and Hurt. Volo is a quick and easy way for vengeance. but after being defeated by either Ingo or the PLA protag? it’s probably exhausted. who knows! maybe that experience gives it time to think and properly observe Humans. theyre a mix of bad decisions and a bad rap.
- returning Survey Question: Do you think Arceus created the Distortion World specifically for Giratina? Or did it exist prior? I’ll be honest, I can’t remember if there’s an actual answer to this one.
- Dargon: This chapter was such a joy to read. I liked this battle even more than the Dialga and Palkia one. I loved the escalation and how it got to be too much at once point. I enjoyed that we got to really see, more that ever before, the bond Ingo has developed with this team. How they all have complete trust in each other. Such a long way we have come. Like how Gliscor used to be a disobedient brat and now he's a clingy brat. It's so heartwarming.
- I also thought it was funny how Ingo finally seems to understand why he was chosen to deal with this. He had the experience and the character for such a thing. This whole chapter, when dealing with Volo himself, is just a testament to how public service workers really are the heros. Like we see Ingo in the beginning preparing to de-escalate a situation involving a very troubled man who seems a bit too obsessed with eldritch deities. I bet this felt just another day at work for him. He saw the signs and brought his management game face. When he realized that this guy was the center of it all it just clicked. Ah so Arceus needed someone who has both ample experience successfully dealing with the worst of humanity (people during rush hour) while staying level headed as well as the battle talent to enforce compliance if necessary. Arceus was out of it's depth (human problems are so weird and delicate) and needed to get The Boss(a boss) to come deal with the situation!
- Sorry! This is kind of a joke but also not. Of course there is more too it, but I was just getting those vibes every time Ingo interacted with Volo lol. And if you think about it there aren't many, if any, high level trainers that deal so heavily in public service (that's not a cop) other than the subway boys and those who they work with. Many have side businesses, but that's not always the same as shuttling thousands of people every day. Maybe Skyla? Those in the food industry?
- As for Giratina I always thought it was just a bit bitter and somewhat of an opportunist. Like it's pretty neutral until it just is having a bad day and decides to relieve stress by messing with reality a bit.
- Klui: Ah man, what a great fight!! Volo is always been interesting to me, a man so blinded by faith in a weird way, so determined, so stubborn he cannot see the foolishness of his actions, talking about a world without tragedy, yet going as far as needed to get his way. Loved the contrast with Ingo, that's my goat. I love the connection between him and his team, you can really feel that love, that closeness, he's let so much of this world into his heart, and that's what makes Volo's last threat great, cause it's reality, no matter where he ends up, he'll have to be torn apart from a home, great stuff!!!
- As for the question, I love Giratina!! I genuinely think it gets a bad rep, he was a little justified in wanting to box Arceus imo
- Chapter 31
- Dargon: A much more relaxing and reflective chapter is just what we needed here after that stressful one before. I love how we get to see Ingo really kind of take his time to collect himself and observe. Giratina gets to just be a sulky pokemon for a bit and chill out. Very nice.
- For the survey question I'm a big magnezone fan so I'm biased toward it. A big reliable flying saucer. It's also a suggestion that by having an magnezone Ingo has either been in a distortion or found it one lost like that other magnezone in the highlands. I think that basculegion is a close second because I just love the big fishy! The only female one I saw in my playthrough was a shiny one I caught so I didn't know they were a different color altogether than male until I saw his alpha one.
- Klui: Oh man YES, it's just what I was talking about in the response, what drives a person to such degrees? I love the talk about Ghetsis, and the Plasma members who truly believed in the cause, what circumstances move someone like this. The questioning of whether Ingo would've joined him if things hadn't gone as well, if he hadn't found the kindness Hisui had for him, it's a dangerous train of thought (hah get it) for someone to delve in, but it's so interesting, so human.
- Arceus somehow being right in bringing him is so frustrating, because he *was* cruel, he took someone from their time, their loved ones, on to a very cruel, very complicated, foreign land that doesn't even speak the same language, but for all intents and purposes, it was the right choice, it saved the land, the world maybe, it's ushering a new era for humans and pokemon, for the cost of one life being derailed. It's heart was in the right place.
- The Giratina quest has a very solemn feel to it, maybe it's the mood of the music I was listening while reading, but there's a feel to it, very different from the quick in-and-out of the game, it's good. The quietness, the silence of it, like it's resting, like it's taking on the world, maybe it's my own bias at what I consider the tragedy of Giratina, but I can't help but feel a tinge of sadness at it. Really funny little bit with the aipom, it was a nice little break. I'm very excited to see where you take this.
- For the survey question, this one's very easy. I am soooo biased for Gliscor (with Chandelure as a close second). I think Ingo's partner Pokemon being a ball of energy is a great dynamic, and I don't know, something about an Ingo who's getting used to the world, and a Gligar learning to accept a human, separated from it's fellow bats for x or y reason is great, since I've always imagined they'd be aggressive.
- Also technically not on his team at all but I kneel before Lady Sneasler as the ultimate Ingo pokemon. Love the dynamics one can imagine with them, so many different explorations of how they found eachother, and their bond, unbreakable even through time and space.
- lemonhoneypastry: we are getting closer to that 33/33!!! I’m kinda sad to see it ending so soon, but honestly I’m more excited to see how it ends!!!! This is such a good fic and I love the writing style soooooo much. Keep up the incredible work!!
- Chapter 32
- Dargon: Ingo accidentally wreaking the ecosystem to farm for competitive stat distributions. Shame on you lmao! Ingo is so ready to move on, but, as I have discussed before, I am a big fan of this settled mindset he has. Home is somewhere on the horizon and he is content to get there at a peaceful pace. He makes sure to tidy up his loose ends and say a proper farewell to the place that has been his home for however many years. I think it will make the ending all the more proper in pacing as we have been winding down steadily.
- Answer: I did not, but I think it is only fitting that we tend to comprehend "nostalgia" as something of the past as most things we care for in life are things we have experienced previously. Though with this clarified definition I realize it can be applied to so much more. Like nostalgia for a place to visit or a state of being. I have nostalgia for living a financially comfortable life with my cat 🐱.
- Lunar (Guest): The moment Ingo mentioned planting mint in a large container, my brain immediately "oh no". That stuff will take over every inch of space it can, including other planters or parts of your lawn if it manages to get even a little bit of root in. Speaking from experience XD
This has been a wonderful story, can't wait for the last chapter!
- Answer: That's absolutely fascinating. I never thought to look up where the word came from, but the sound of the word really fits both definitions.
- digitalpen: He’s almost back! He’s almost home! Even the narration points the way, how Ingo documents purposefully instead of his earlier aimless uncertainty. I’m already getting that bittersweet feeling augh.
- Lupanari: The end is nigh! aaahh... Gonna be kinda sad to see the end, but I always am with the great stories. Looking forward to seeing whatever ending you have planned for us.
- Klui: We're almost there and it's so bittersweet in a way. This has been such a wonderful experience, one of the most uniquely executed fics I've ever read but I think you nailed it. This sequence in the village, finally stopping to see its people, as a form of documenting, but also as a way to tie loose ends. It's peaceful and calm, very grounded, quite nice to read.
- I'm not sure what your decided ending will be, but that talk with Lady Irida is something I'm really looking forward to. Being honest, I've always had the very unpopular opinion that I like Ingo staying in Hisui, and I've loved that this fic has played with the idea of him making peace with the different possibilities, hope and acceptance, one of my favorite portrayals of him for sure.
- For survey question, I didn't, but I totally see how it evolved into the modern definition. I personally identify a lot with the original one haha, it's a very strong emotion!
- Munchkin_Of_Pern: HE’S GOING HOME!!!
- flameMail: I love this aspect of the game where you see the village and its residents develop with your actions, and I found it quite touching here with the contrast of the last experiences before and after as well, with all that Ingo's been through in between.
- I did not and looked it up for myself to learn more. I thought the way "nostalgia" was first used to describe the feeling of homesickness makes sense, as home is a natural spot for sentimental memories and it naturally feels melancholic to come back to when you have to leave it behind. In a way I feel it still represents the same feeling of reflection on something that you once experienced before and appreciated, with those memories still living within yourself, and I suppose this theme has ties into the title of the fic as well.
- SeCrFiDr: whh that nostalgia thing . holy shit thats so cool
- and - whatever ending it is, im fucking stoked. this has been an awesome fic and i will be rereading
- lemonhoneypastry: One more update 🥲 this was such a nice chill chapter, and I liked seeing how the town developed over the course of the story! The part with zisu and her team was also interesting! <3
- theright2quack [tumblr tags]: #aerghhwlehgewh rip this man's mint garden#made for a really cool hc tho
- Chapter 33
- digitalpen: Bravo! That was the first time I’ve gotten into an Ingo as the protagonist story and I did enjoy it. I could’ve predicted from the tone of the ending that you would write some more. ;) but no worries and I don’t want to rush you. I would want a big break, too. I’ll spend some time myself imagining what comes next, under the assumption that he gets to go home right this second Arceus I swear…
- centerpointsorcerer: an excellent conclusion! def looking forward to the companion if/when you post it! :3
- Madredhattie: This has been such a delightful read! I'll admit I shied away at first from the nontraditional narrative description, but I am so glad I decided to give it a go - I've been enthralled by the story and following along eagerly with each update. The way you wrote Ingo throughout his time in Hisui, from the lows to the highs, all felt so perfectly in line with how he'd react to this situation. The few times he spoke Emmet's name, despite addressing his brother in his recordings and texts, carried a lot of emotional weight! I find myself really hoping that one day he'll be able to share these videos with Emmet, and maybe Arceus was nice enough to record those hopeless phone calls on the phone. I'm definitely sticking around for the continuing series! As Ingo would surely say, bravo!
- Dargon: (I accidentally left my comment in the bookmarks at first LMAO) I have left a kudos after every chapter btw. This was such an amazing and unique story. The open yet hopeful ending fits well given how we consumed the story. I don't have too many words. Just praise for now.
- I do wonder what will meet Ingo at the top. The game has you have a climatic boss fight with Arceus and my thoughts on that are mixed. As a player it was extremely fun, but narratively I disliked it as it didn't really give the story of the player any closure other than a clear mark for endgame content. I always hoped for more. Either some sort of closure or at least a bit more of a hint as to why I was there over other.
- I am excited for any companion pieces to this!
- Thanks for this wonderful work!
- Klui: What a ride it has been, and I'm glad to know it's not quite over yet, very excited to see where you lead us eventually!!
- Loved the monologue, very introspective and calm, collected even. It's like he's made peace with what he's left in Hisui, and is now moving into another station. The love and understanding of the people, of how they acted, what they had to do in order to survive the land, and that they showed their support when it counted, it was wonderful, number 1 Hisui fan 🙏🙏🙏
- Thank you for the series, it's been so good, I'm hoping to see more of your takes!!
- kotter: THIS IS SUCH A GOOD FIC I LOVE THE STYLE YOU CHOSE AND INGO IS SUCH A GOOD PROTAG. i love his characterization. i love how he handles hisui and his pokemon. i loved the fun language bits in the beginning. i especially love how you can practically feel the softness and sincerity in his voice when he tells emmet that he hopes he never doubted how much he (ingo) loves him. i'm just. fuck
- Lupanari: This is a rather fitting end to this particular story. Hope Ingo got to yell at Arceus for a good bit once he got to the top. He’s more than earned the right.
- Super happy you’re continuing this au with a series though. Eagerly awaiting once you start posting that.
- Enjoy your break!
- pointvee: oh wow this is an absolute gem of a fic! I laid down and binged the whole thing in a couple of hours and i love the formatting and worldbuilding youve done!! (preemptively apologizing for how disorganized this is lmao)
- one minor nitpick that has lingered in my brain is that in the giratina fight you have machamp no sell a shadow force, but iirc in the mainline games ghosts can hit fighting types (though not the other way around).
- we've been reading from emmets pov havent we? but how did he get the phone, and seemly without (implied) input from ingo?
- i gotta say of all the characters i did not expect the phone rotom to be the one who grew on me. perhaps because its their pov we see a lot of the fic from but theyre such a funny character.
- why was ingo retroactively worried about kamado?
- oh! i really loved the progression of ingos relationship with his gliscor! from throwing rocks to literally fighting gods.
- what was up with the red chain digging into ingos arm?
- themichaelvan: WAUUUGGGBH. GOOD FIC ‼️‼️
- radio_show: I’ve binge read this fic over the last few days after my submas favouritism came back with a passion, and i have to say it’s been such a treat to dig into. The way it’s written isn’t like anything I’ve read before, and it’s been so familiar in ways I can’t begin o describe. The calls are always so tender and the moments where Ingo’s strength faded to just missing his brother really got me;;; that and the characterisation of his team too. The fights!! The relationships,,, it’s so wonderful. I can’t wait to read the next issue- that’s what introduced me to this series scrolling through the Ingo and Emmet tag, so I’m excited to see how it goes. Thank you for such a brilliant time!!! Bravo!!
- lemonhoneypastry: AHHHHHHHH THIS WAS SO GOOD 😭😭😭😭 literally fell in love with this fic and now that it’s over I have to just sit and think about it. Such an amazing story!!!! Thank you so much for writing this 🙏🙏🙏🙏🥹🥹🥹🥹
